The basis on which we do the work.

These terms apply to removal, packing and related services provided by Blacktown Removals (“we”, “us”) to you. By booking a job with us, you accept them.
A quote is based on the information you give us — the size of the move, the addresses, access at both ends, and the items involved. It is an estimate of the time and resources the job will take, not a fixed price, unless we have expressly described it as a fixed price (as we do for interstate moves).
If the job on the day is materially different from what was described — significantly more items, an access problem we were not told about, a lift that is unavailable — the time taken and the charge may change. We will tell you as soon as we become aware of it.
Local moves are charged at an hourly rate, billed in half-hour blocks after the applicable minimum booking. Charging starts when we arrive at your pick-up address and ends when the last item is unloaded. All rates we quote include GST.
We do not charge a call-out fee or a fuel levy, and blankets, shrink wrap, trolleys and floor protection are included at no extra cost.
Payment is due on completion of the job unless we have agreed invoice terms with you in writing. We accept card and bank transfer.
Please give us as much notice as you can if you need to cancel or move your date. We will always try to accommodate a change. Cancellations at very short notice may attract a fee where we have turned away other work or already committed a crew and truck to your job; if that applies, we will tell you at the time of booking.
You agree to:
We cannot transport hazardous or dangerous goods, including flammable liquids, gas bottles, chemicals, paint, explosives, ammunition or asbestos. We also do not carry cash, jewellery, precious stones, documents of title or other irreplaceable valuables — please move these yourself.
We do not disconnect or reconnect gas, electrical or plumbed appliances. Please arrange a qualified tradesperson for that.
We carry public liability and goods-in-transit insurance, and we will provide a certificate of currency on request. Cover is subject to the terms, limits and exclusions of the relevant policy.
We are not liable for damage to items that were packed by you where the damage results from inadequate packing, for pre-existing damage or wear, for damage to items that were inherently fragile or defective, or for damage arising from access difficulties you did not disclose.
Please inspect your goods on delivery and tell us about any damage as soon as possible, so we can deal with it while the facts are fresh.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited to resupplying the services or paying the cost of having the services resupplied.
We will do everything reasonable to arrive and deliver within the agreed window. We are not responsible for delays caused by matters outside our control, including traffic, weather, road closures, breakdowns, or access being unavailable at either address.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales.
