How we handle the information you give us.

Blacktown Removals is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
When you request a quote, book a move or contact us, we collect the information you give us. That typically means your name, phone number, email address, the addresses you are moving from and to, the date of your move, and any details you tell us about the job — access, stairs, lifts, and the items involved.
We do not collect sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act, and we do not ask for it.
We use your information to prepare your quote, schedule and carry out your move, invoice you, and contact you about the job. If something goes wrong on a move, we may also use it to process an insurance claim.
We may occasionally contact you about our services. You can opt out at any time by replying to any message or calling us on 02 7251 9477, and we will stop.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary to do the job you have engaged us for — for example with our insurer if a claim is made, with a building manager when a lift booking or certificate of currency is required, or with our accountants and payment processors.
If we ever need to engage another removalist to assist with your move, we will tell you, and we will only pass on what they need to complete the job.
Your information is held in our booking records and email systems. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.
We keep job records for as long as we need them for the purposes above and to meet our tax and legal record-keeping obligations. After that we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify them.
This website uses only what is needed to serve the pages and load our fonts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google when you load a page. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Contact us at info@blacktownremovals.com.au or on 02 7251 9477. We will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge for making a request.
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at info@blacktownremovals.com.au and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page.
